Somerset Local Authority is consulting on a number of proposed changes to the discretionary areas of its Home to School Transport Policy and would very much welcome your views. It is important to say that the proposed changes would not affect those pupils already receiving or eligible for free transport under statutory entitlement grounds, or those already receiving transport assistance under discretionary grounds. Also, no changes are being proposed the current travel arrangements of Children in Care, Further Education, or for Pre-school aged children & Post 16 students with a Special Educational Need, disability or mobility difficulty requiring special arrangements for travel. The changes being proposed are detailed in full in the attached consultation document (found in the "Consultation Documents" section below). Please read through our document and then if you wish to, you can respond by using the questionnaire we have provided on this site. The questionnaire has been designed so that questions follow the order of the changes detailed within the consultation document. You do not have to answer all the questions and only need to respond to those areas of change on which you have a view.
A copy of the full draft Home To School Transport policy document is available on request by e mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
The closing date for consultation is Wednesday 10 July 2013. PLEASE NOTE: Consultation responses received up to 5.00pm on Wednesday 17 July 2013 will be considered.
Thank you for sparing your valuable time to participate in our consultation.
